New and Re-Discovered Favourites.

Hey beauties! I'm so sorry, but I keep forgetting about this blog! I have put a  little sticky note thing on my desktop telling me to blog, so hopefully that will help me remember.
Here are a few of my favourite things from the past few months!

Aveeno Positively Radiant Tinted Moisturizer in Fair to Light SPF 30. I don't particularly like using foundation because I don't like how heavy it feels on my skin. This tinted moisturiser was recommended to me by the drugstore princess. It's the perfect tinted moisturiser. It is sheer and doesn't cover my freckles, but is opaque enough to block out any redness. The only downside is that the lightest shade is still a tad bit off from my skin tone. If I finish my makeup with a setting powder it looks like it is the right shade though. Otherwise I mix a bit of this with my regular moisturiser.

Olé knock off of a Marc Jacobs Perfume
My friend got this perfume for me for my birthday in January, and I've stupidly thrown out the box it came in and the name isn't on the bottle. Oopsie! I love the smell of this perfume and I am not even going to attempt to describe the scent to you because I am rubbish at describing scents! I just wanted to show you how pretty the top is!

Got2b Guardian Angel Flat Iron Balm
This is a heat protector for your hair, specifically for straightening. It leaves my hair so soft and shiny and also helps keep my hair straight. My hair is fairly stubborn and doesn't like to stay straight, but when I use this stuff it will stay straight all day. With this a little goes a long way. I use about 3 to 4 spritzes for my entire head, but I have pretty long hair so someone with shorter hair would only need 1 or 2. Good Product, highly recommend it.

Essie All-in-One Base
I like this. I do, honestly, but... no I like it. I have been using it for about 2 months now? I have a review planned for this, so I won't say much more.

Revlon ColorStay Liquid Eye Pen
I bought this a long time ago and kind of forgot about it. I recently cleaned my pigsty of a room and found it. I've been using it every single day on my lids. It's wonderful. I would recommend storing it cap down to make it work better.  I just realized that I should show you the tip! Here is a webcam photo of that.

Hope you're all well! x J

Strawberry Scented Nail Polish Remover?

My birthday was on January 27th, and for my birthday a friend of mine gave me L.A Colors Nail Polish Remover Pads.

The container says that one pad can clean 10 nails, and that a darker polish may take more than 1 pad. I was a little skeptical of how well they would work. This is what my nails looked like before I took the polish off (nubbins! I know, they're terrible.)

And this is what my nails look like after using the Nail Polish remover pads.

They worked really well! I was pleasantly surprised. I'm curious to see how they will fare with a dark polish. I think I'll be giving my barely there nails a break for a while though.

Sparkly French Tip

^ Creative title, eh? Pretty straight forward though!

The first thing I did was free hand the white tip using L.A Colours Art Deco in White. I applied a second coat so that it didn't look streaky.

Next, I added a coat of L.A Colours Art Deco in Ice Breaker.
(flash used to show sparklyness :3 )

And then another coat of Ice Breaker!

And to finish, a clear coat on top. I've lost my top coat, some how.

Happy New Year!

Long time no blog beauties! Sorry about that, I kind of forgot that I had this blog... But! It is now 2012. Change is in the air and I've decided to actually blog about nail art and such :)

This is my third attempt of the night at a tape mani, and my first attempt at this design. The black line was done free hand with Sally Hansen Nail Art Pen in Black, the base colour is Deep Water by ACO and the sparkly polish is Day N' Night by ACO.

The next little thing I have to show you is an eye makeup look. This look was done using the NYX For Your Eyes Only Beautiful Green Eyes pallet. I have hazel eyes, but there is no pallet specifically for hazel eyes and this one had super pretty colours that I figured would still suit my eye. I used Annabelle Smoothliner in Brownie on my waterline and top lash line, and a regular old brown mascara on my top and lower lashes. (Doesn't it kind of look like a kiwi fruit?!)

I have a teeny tutorial for my next post :) Stay tuned!

Strawberries! ^.^

Hey lovelies! How have you all been? I'm still ill, but not nearly as gross as before! :)
This is my latest venture in nail art. I used LA Colors in Cranberry Red, LA Colors Art Deco in Yellow, and Pure Ice in Wild Thing as the main colours in this tutorial. So, let's get started!

Step 1: Apply a base coat, and two coats of your base colour (LA Colors CR.)
Step 2: Apply white (I used a Sally Hansen french tip polish.) polish in the shape of leaves. The white makes the green of the leaves require fewer coats. You can make the angles more intense if you wish, but I like them curved for a kind of cartoon shape.
Step 3: Add your pipits! (LA Colors Art Deco in Yellow)
Step 4: Apply the green of your leaves. My suggestion is to use thin coats and build up the colour so that your leaves don't become goopy and gross. (No one wants a goopy strawberry)
Step 5: Add glitter, because you can! (Sinful Colours Opal Glitter)
(Blurry so that the glitter is visible :3 )

Forever 21 Love & Beauty

When I saw that Forever 21 sold nail polish, I decided that I would try it out. I wasn’t expecting much from the polish, considering that it is $3.80 and from a clothing store, but I decided to check it out anyway!  I got the polish in a very pretty blue, appropriately named Baby Blue.

 One Coat

 Two Coats
 Three Coats

It could have used maybe one more coat, but I wanted to go to bed and didn’t feel like waiting for it to dry! The formula of the polish is better than expected, it’s pretty creamy. The brush is wide enough and doesn’t shed (like so many other cheap polish’ brushes do!).  All in all, I was quite impressed with the quality of it.
As for how chip resistant it was….

Day one of full day wear
Day two (my polish OCD kicked in and I peeled the rest off because they all had huge chips out of them….)

I need to get a better top coat. I’m currently using just a clear coat that I found in the bathroom after I lost my good top coat. I alternated between nails for top coat so that I could ~experiment~. I noticed that the polish with my crappy top coat on them peeled easier than the ones without! Hmm…

Some people say that the F21 polishes are a rip-off of L.A Colors (*echem* colours) in a different bottle. What do you think? Do you own and Love & Beauty polishes?

Bonjour!

I'm Josephine, 16 years old, and I live in New Brunswick, Canada ^.^ I started this blog because a lot of the girls on PAA kept asking if I had one! Now that I made one, I can say yes! :) I won't be posting solely nail art though. I will be posting a plethora of girly things, such as fashion and make-up!
If you have any questions, feel free to ask me whatever you please!

To start off, this was my first attempt at nail art! Laugh at me if you want! I think it was alright as a first try! :)
